Md. Man Gets 30 Years For Roommate's Murder
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- A Hagerstown man is going to prison for murdering his roommate.
The Herald-Mail reports Darrell Hicks, 54, was sentenced Thursday in Washington County Circuit Court to 30 years in prison.
Hicks was convicted in April of second-degree murder in the stabbing death of Darrin Pressman, 45.
Pressman was killed May 30, 2011. His girlfriend found the decomposing body four days later, lying partly in a closet of the downtown apartment the two men shared. Hicks was still living in the unit.
Hicks showed no remorse at sentencing. When asked if he had anything to say before he was sentenced, he directed an obscene comment at the victim's girlfriend.
