Md. Man Gets 30 Years For D.C. Sexual Assaults
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Prosecutors say a Maryland man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for attacks on four women he met through Craigslist.
Edgar D. Romero, 26, of Bladensburg was sentenced Thursday in Superior Court in Washington.
Prosecutors say that between December 2008 and February 2009 he and an accomplice contacted women through Craigslist ads for erotic services. The two would meet women in a Washington hotel, display a knife or gun, bind the women with duct tape and then steal from them.
Prosecutors say Romero sexually assaulted two victims and helped his accomplice sexually assault one victim.
Romero pled guilty in 2010 to two counts of first-degree sexual abuse while armed, one count of first-degree burglary, and one
count of robbery while armed.
