Md. Man Gets 100 Years For Abusing 3 Children
WESTMINSTER, Md. (AP) -- A Westminster man has been sentenced to 100 years in prison for sexually abusing three children over a 6-year period.
Forty-eight-year-old Nicholas Adam DeRita Jr. was convicted in February of 11 counts of sodomy, sex abuse and sex offense charges. He was sentenced Monday in Carroll County Circuit Court.
Senior Assistant State's Attorney Amanda Costley told the Carroll County Times that DeRita got what he deserved.
But at sentencing, DeRita insisted he was innocent. He talked about fishing trips he went on with the victims and amusement parks he took them to, and said how much fun they had together.
