Md. Man Convicted Of Stealing Apple Products Off Trucks
ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) -- A Maryland man has been convicted of conspiring to commit armed robberies of delivery trucks that were distributing Apple Inc. products throughout the region.
U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema in Alexandria found Khalil Blackman, 31, of District Heights, Md., guilty Monday following a bench trial. He faces a mandatory minimum of seven years in prison and a potential maximum of life when he is sentenced in April.
Court records indicate that Blackman and his cohorts targeted delivery trucks coming in and out of a warehouse in Prince George's County that was used to deliver Apple products. Blackman's co-conspirators included an employee of the contractor that operated the warehouse and ran the deliveries.
Apple lost more than $130,000 in three separate armed robberies that occurred in 2011.
