Md. Man Convicted Of Murder In W.Va. Slaying
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (AP) -- A Maryland man faces at least 15 years in prison after being convicted of killing a West Virginia woman during a robbery.
Media outlets report that a Berkeley County Circuit Court jury found Roy L. Wisotzkey of Hagerstown, Md., guilty on Wednesday of felony murder, first-degree robbery, burglary and conspiracy.
The jury recommended life with mercy. That means Wisotzkey, 35, will be eligible for parole after serving 15 years in prison.
Wisotzkey's attorney, Christopher Prezioso, declined to comment on the verdict.
Prosecutors say Wisotzkey and co-defendant Joshua Stitley of Hancock, Md., killed Stitley's mother, 57-year-old Vickie Clem during a robbery at her home in Falling Waters in May 2011.
Stitley, 34, is scheduled to stand trial Oct. 22.
