Md. Man Convicted Of Murder In VFW Slaying
SALISBURY, Md. (AP) -- A teenager has been convicted of first-degree murder in the shooting death of a man outside the VFW in Salisbury.
Taquez Price, 19, of Ocean City was convicted Thursday in the death of Jackie Hopkins, 37, of Georgetown.
According to trial testimony, Hopkins and his girlfriend were getting into a car at the VFW on June 28 when two men approached them.
One man had a small handgun. According to court documents, Hopkins was shot while he was backing away with his arms raised.
