Md. Man Charged With Stabbing Dog
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- A Hagerstown man is charged with stabbing a dog.
The Herald-Mail reports that Robert Scheidegger had a bond hearing Thursday.
He allegedly stabbed the dog with a knife and threatened to kill the animal's female owner after they got into an argument at the State Line Motel.
A witness told police that Scheidegger's dog followed the woman out of the motel room and attacked her dog. A second man allegedly was bitten while trying to separate the animals.
The woman told police that as she was tending to the bitten man, Scheidegger stabbed her dog and threatened to kill her.
The injured dog survived.
Scheidegger's lawyer says the woman's dog attacked one of Scheidegger's associates. He says Scheidegger plans to file a criminal complaint in the matter.
