Md. Man Charged In N.Y. With Sex Abuse Of Children
WATERLOO, N.Y. (AP) -- A Maryland man is charged with sexually abusing two young girls he was acquainted with while living in upstate New York earlier this year.
Seneca County sheriff's officials say John Wilson, 43, is accused of repeatedly abusing the 7- and 8-year-old girls in the Seneca County town of Waterloo during the spring and summer.
He has since moved to Waldorf, Md.
Wilson was arrested Monday in Rochester and appeared in Waterloo Town Court, where he was assigned a public defender. Bail was set at $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond.
The judge also issued orders of protection for the girls.
A woman who identified herself as Wilson's mother when reached by phone in Maryland described the charges as "trumped up" but declined further comment.
