Md. Man Arrested In Robbery Attempt At D.C. Eatery
WASHINGTON (AP) -- D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier says one man has been arrested in a robbery attempt at a downtown restaurant, but detectives are searching for two other suspects.
Police say the robbery occurred just after 8 p.m. Wednesday at a Pret A Manger restaurant in the 1800-block of L Street, NW.
A restaurant employee was injured in a scuffle with the suspects, during which a gun went off. No one was shot, and the three men fled.
Lanier wouldn't say whether anything was taken from the restaurant.
Police later arrested one of the men, 19-year-old Elijah Warren, of Upper Marlboro, Md., in southeast D.C. and are charging him with assault with intent to commit robbery.
Lanier says officers were searching as of Thursday afternoon for two other suspects.
