Md. Man Accused Of Defrauding Clients In West Virginia
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (AP) -- A Sept. 11 trial is scheduled for a Maryland man accused of defrauding clients while working as a lawyer in West Virginia.
A Berkeley County grand jury charged Kenneth J. Ford, 37, of Baltimore last month with obtaining money by false pretenses, forgery of a public record and uttering of a public record.
Ford pleaded not guilty to the charges Monday during an arraignment in Berkeley County Circuit Court.
Ford formerly worked as a lawyer in Martinsburg. The West Virginia Supreme Court annulled his law license in March.
He is accused of forging a family court order and failing to complete legal services for multiple clients.
He remains free on bond.
