Md. Man, 19, Accused Of Stealing Instruments, Toothpaste
ACCOKEEK, Md. (AP) -- A 19-year-old man has been charged with breaking into schools and churches in Charles County and stealing, among other things, a cello, a standing bass and toothpaste.
The Charles County Sheriff's Office announced Thursday that 19-year-old Mortimer Wade of Accokeek has been charged in the burglaries, which occurred in late June and early July. He was arrested on July 31.
The sheriff's office says Wade stole the cello, bass and toothpaste from schools in Waldorf and Indian Head. He also allegedly broke into churches in Waldorf and White Plains and stole a sound board, among other items. Authorities say he also stole a television from a Waldorf business.
Court records indicate Wade also faces a theft charge in Prince George's County. His public defender did not immediately return a message.
