O'Malley Signs Somerset County Redistricting Bill
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Gov. Martin O'Malley has signed a measure that redistricts five Somerset County commissioner districts.
Maryland's House of Delegates passed the bill 135-1 on Tuesday, and O'Malley signed the bill Tuesday afternoon at a brief ceremony.
The emergency legislation took effect after O'Malley signed it.
The bill specifies that the filing deadline for a candidate to the Somerset County Board of Education will be reopened until 12 p.m. on the second business day following the effective date of the bill.
