Md. Landlord Gets Probation In 'Peeping Tom' Case
ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- A Chevy Chase landlord who prosecutors say secretly recorded female tenants having sex has been sentenced to probation.
Dennis Van Dusen was spared jail time during his sentencing hearing Tuesday in Montgomery County Circuit Court.
Prosecutors say Van Dusen attracted women to his home by offering low-price rents and hid little video cameras in the rooms of three female tenants, including inside a smoke detector in the ceiling.
A judge said he believed Van Dusen would be better served by mental health treatment than by going to jail.
