Md. Inmate Dead Of Apparent Suicide At Jail

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- The Frederick County Sheriff's Office says a jail inmate apparently hanged himself hours after he was denied parole.

Officials say Robert C. Jones of Braddock Heights was found hanging in his cell at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center around 12:30 p.m. Friday.

Jones, 46, had attended a hearing where he was denied parole on Friday morning. Jones was sentenced for multiple crimes in 2011, including reckless driving, forgery and violation of probation.

The sheriff's office says an autopsy will be performed.
