Md. High School To Honor Slain English Teacher
SALISBURY, Md. (AP) -- A Wicomico County high school is planning to hold a tribute to an English teacher who was killed by her husband in early September.
The Daily Times of Salisbury reports that Parkside High School and family members will celebrate the life of Alice Davis, 55, on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the school's auditorium.
Police say Davis was killed by her husband, Jesse Davis, near a Princess Anne church where her body was later found. Her husband, who had reported her missing on Sept. 4, was found dead in their home days later. Police say he committed suicide.
School officials say Davis had worked at the school since 1983.
The newspaper reports Davis was the sister of former Salisbury Mayor Barrie Tilghman.
