Md. Health Department Gives Out 58,020 Fentanyl Test Strips
BALTIMORE (WJZ) — The State Health Department has given out more than 58,000 fentanyl test strips to 26 organizations.
This comes two months after officials announced the program to distribute the kits that allow users to test cocaine or heroin for the presence of fentanyl.
The department bought 66,000 of the kits at $1 each.
More than 70,000 people have died from opioid overdoses in 2017.
