O'Malley Reacts To Health Care Ruling
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley says his administration will keep working to prepare the state to implement federal health care reform, despite a federal judge's ruling that it's unconstitutional.
O'Malley, who has been a strong supporter of the overhaul, described the Florida court's ruling on Monday as one step in a process that will resolve legal challenges to the law.
The federal judge in Florida sided with 26 states that argued people cannot be required to buy health insurance.
The O'Malley administration says the law will extend coverage to more than 350,000 Maryland residents.
