O'Malley To Make Announcement At ICC Interchange
LAUREL, Md. (AP) -- Gov. Martin O'Malley and other elected leaders will be at the site of the future interchange between Interstate 95 and the Intercounty Connector for an economic development announcement.
O'Malley will be joined Tuesday by Prince George's County Executive Rushern Baker to detail what the governor's office calls "high-end development and highway improvements."
The area surrounding the I-95 and ICC interchange has been slated for a large mixed-use development called Konterra. The Washington Post reported earlier in April that the state has agreed to pay $74 million to settle a lawsuit with the developers of Konterra. The state will pay for an additional interchange and other road improvements.
The ICC will connect I-95 in Prince George's with Interstate 270 in Montgomery County.
