3-Year-Old Md. Girl Killed By Garage Door Is Identified
WALDORF, Md. (AP) -- Authorities in Charles County have identified a 3-year-old girl who died after being pinned under an automatic garage door.
The girl's name was Leilah Dawn Coady. While the investigation continues, the Charles County Sheriff's office says her death on Friday afternoon appears to have been an accident.
Authorities say the girl ran under the door as it was closing and was pinned to the ground. Her mother found her, and she was taken to a hospital, where she died.
The garage door has sensors on either side, and investigators are trying to determine if it was working properly.
