Md. Funeral Planned For Cop Who Died After Being Hit By Car

GAITHERSBURG, Md. (AP) -- Funeral services have been scheduled for a police officer who died after being hit by a suspected drunken driver in Maryland.

The Montgomery County police department said in a press release Friday evening that funeral services for 24-year-old Officer Noah Leotta will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Covenant Life Church in Gaithersburg. A visitation will be held Monday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Leotta died at a hospital after being hit while working on a drunken-driving task force.

The case is still under investigation and the driver has not yet been charged. But Montgomery County Police Chief Thomas Manger has said that the driver had been arrested twice before for driving under the influence.
