Md. Couple Accused Of Grocery Store Pick-Pocketing
SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) -- A husband and wife are charged in Montgomery County with stealing a woman's wallet at a grocery store and racking up a $1,600 credit card bill.
Police on Monday announced theft and fraud charges against Karen Kay Steelman and Kenneth Harris, both of Upper Marlboro.
They're accused of pick-pocketing a woman at a Whole Foods Market in Silver Spring in June. Police say the woman realized her wallet was missing as she tried to pay for her items.
Police say about $1,600 was charged to one of the woman's credit cards, and that surveillance video shows the two suspects using the card.
Court records don't list lawyers for the couple, and no working telephone number could immediately be found.
