All Lanes Open On Bay Bridge After Storm Passes
SANDY POINT, Md. (AP) -- The Maryland Transportation Authority has reopened all lanes on the Bay Bridge after a line of severe storms passed through the area.
The National Weather Service had issued severe thunderstorm watches and warnings for much of Maryland, Delaware, the District of Columbia and northern Virginia through the morning Thursday.
Traffic was limited to one lane on the three-lane westbound span in case it was necessary to clear the bridge quickly.
Forecasters are warning that storms in the afternoon could produce damaging winds and large hail and a flash flood watch is in effect through the evening.
