PATUXENT RIVER, Md. (AP) -- The U.S. Navy has agreed to pay $38,500 to settle alleged hazardous waste violations at the Naval Air Station Patuxent River.
The Environmental Protection Agency made the announcement in a statement Tuesday.
The agency says the Navy was cited for a series of violations including failing to keep hazardous waste containers closed during storage and failing to properly maintain leak detection and spill prevention equipment.
