Matt Adams and Glenn Talk PGA Championship
Matt Adams with the Back 9 Network and PGA Tour Radio joined the Glenn Younes show to talk about this weekend's PGA Championship at Oak Hill.
Glenn asked Matt if Tiger Woods will be using his driver this weekend. "He said he was going to use it between two to five times in a round." He went on to say, "It's a golf course I do think that Tiger could get away with not having to use the driver. The risk is where he would have to probably use it is on the final holes."
Rory McIlroy has been struggling this year. Glenn asked Matt what he thinks of Rory's play. Matt says that Rory has been working on his putting and thinks that we could see a big improvement in McIlroy's play this weekend. "I think that this could be a breakthrough week for Rory McIlroy. I don't necessarily think he's going to win the tournament, but I think we could see a very solid performance that could usher him into the second half of the year."
Glenn followed that up by asking Matt who has more momentum. Tiger Woods off of his win at Bridgestone or Phil Mickelson off of his major. "It's splitting hairs. You can't deny either one of them have momentum." He talked about the pressure of Tiger winning his 15th major. "It's not a question of if Tiger can do it. It's a question of whether he has the mental fortitude."
