Maryland's Home & Garden Show Is In Town Just In Time For Spring
TIMONIUM, Md. (WJZ) -- If you've got a case of the winter blues, the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium is the place to be this weekend.
Ron Matz reports it's time to swing into spring.
Baltimore is stepping into spring at the Maryland Home and Garden Show in Timonium. There are beautiful patios, 17 fully landscaped gardens and 300 exhibitors at the State Fairgrounds.
"If you're looking to spruce up your house, either inside or outside, from ceiling to roof, we've got it all here. We've got 300 exhibitors just in the home and garden portion. We've had big crowds. The mood just seems different than it has the last two years," said Jeff Plummer, Maryland Home & Garden Show.
Orchids and other flowers will be blooming this weekend.
"It's a big weekend for flowers. The Orchid Show is spectacular. Friday morning you're going to see people lined up to get their first dibs at some of the orchids. We also have flowers in our plant marketplace in the home and garden portion that you can purchase as well," said Plummer.
Arbor Ridge Landscapers was named one of the best in show, a symphony of spring.
"You can talk to the owners of businesses here. I can't stress how important that is. You get to know who you're dealing with, to be able to talk to an owner if you have problems. You know who you can go to," said Plummer.
This is the show's 30th year and over two weekends it will bring more than 60,000 people to the Fairgrounds.
"We're here Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. and Sunday 10 until 6 p.m. Discount tickets are available on our website, www.mdhomeandgarden.com. We'd love to have everyone come out. We think you'll enjoy it," said Plummer.
