Maryland Woman Dies In Grand Canyon Accident
GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Ariz. (AP) -- A Maryland woman has been killed in a traffic accident on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon in northern Arizona.
National Park Service officials say Carol Cook, 57, of Woodbine was driving when she went off the road and hit a tree. She was dead at the scene just outside the Park's entrance station.
A male relative was taken to a hospital in southern Utah for treatment of minor injuries after Tuesday's accident.
Both people in the vehicle were wearing seat belts.
The Park Service and the Arizona highway patrol are investigating the cause of the accident.
