Maryland Weather: Severe Storms Thursday Leave Behind Damage & Power Outages
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Severe weather moved through the region early Thursday evening and left more than 59,000 people without power at the peak of the storm.
A tree was uprooted in Annapolis, after the National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for the area.
Meteorologist Meg McNamara said there were no shortages of damaging winds in the area as the storm rolled through. A wind gust of over 63 mph was reported in Anne Arundel County.
As the storm moved through the region, ominous clouds were spotted in the sky.
Almost 60,000 people were without power at the peak of the storm.
There were reports of down trees and some flooded roadways. There weren't reports of injuries.

The National Weather Service will confirm if a tornado did touch down in Maryland during the storm.
