Maryland Weather: Cloudy With A Chance For Storms Later

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Clouds are in full force this Tuesday.

A warm and moist air mass led to a foggy morning with gray skies continuing through the day.

A cold front is pushing across the state with rain and storms firing up along it.

We'll likely see some wet weather in the Baltimore area during the late afternoon and evening.

While thunderstorms are a possibility for central and northern parts of the state, our friends in southern Maryland have the best chance to see storms.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed a lower sliver of the state under a marginal risk for severe storms.

That's a one out of four on the threat scale with one being the lowest and four being the highest.

Gusty winds are the main threat.

Clouds will hold through the early evening but we'll see gradual clearing from there.

Overnight temps will bottom out in the mid 40s.

Wednesday starts bright but turns gray as the day goes on.

The winds will be whipping in the wake of the cold front.

Expect northwest winds between 15-20 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph.

The blustery conditions will make the already cool afternoon temperatures in the upper 50s feel even chillier.

A pretty solid stretch of sunshine starts Thursday and continues through Sunday.

An afternoon chance for showers by Sunday afternoon will likely snap the rain free weather though.
