Maryland Weather: Spring-Like Temperatures Are Here

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Frigid air greeted you today as you headed back to work and got the kids off to school for the final work week of winter.

But even though it was chilly enough outside to throw on a jacket, with temperatures in the 20s and 30s, you won't need it as the day goes on.

Under plentiful sunshine, temperatures soar into the low 60s this afternoon, significantly higher than our normal daytime high of 54 degrees.

Tonight's clear skies will send temperatures tumbling into the low to upper 30s.

Tuesday will be even warmer than Monday, with a mixture of sunshine and clouds and highs hitting the upper 60s.

Wednesday is almost a repeat performance with temperatures in the neighborhood of 70 degrees and a bit more sunshine on tap.

It seems unclear if we'll have the luck of the Irish on our side when it comes to the St. Patrick's Day forecast.

Clouds will be in full force and there is a chance for showers in the afternoon.

Thursday won't be a washout, though, and highs will reach into the upper 60s that day.

Friday is looking oh-so warm with highs likely in the mid 70s.

There is a chance for showers on Saturday, but spring starts on a sunny note on Sunday.
