Maryland Man Unhurt When Small Plane Crashes In N.J.
WINSLOW TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) -- Authorities say a Maryland man escaped injury when the small plane he was piloting crashed at a southern New Jersey airport.
Winslow Township police say 69-year-old Joseph Dodoo of Salisbury was alone in his 1996 Piper plane and attempting to land at Camden County Airport when he overshot the runway around 7:45 p.m. Friday and crashed into a chain link fence.
Dodoo soon got out of the plane and walked away from the accident. The plane, though, sustained significant damage.
The cause of the crash remained under investigation Saturday by the Federal Aviation Administration and local authorities.
