Maryland Guard Stoglin Declares For NBA Draft
COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — Maryland guard Terrell Stoglin has entered the NBA draft after receiving a one-year suspension from the school.
Stoglin averaged 21.6 points per game as a sophomore last season, tops in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The 6'1" standout started 27 of 29 games and received 42 starts over two seasons for the Terrapins.
The school announced Monday that Stoglin will be suspended due to a violation of the University of Maryland Student-Athlete Code of Conduct. According to the school, Stoglin declared for the NBA draft on Sunday.
Sophomore guard Mychal Parker also received a one-year suspension, although he previously announced his intention to transfer to another school.
Athletic director Kevin Anderson said of the suspensions: "We're disappointed, but hope they use this as a learning experience."
