Maryland Gets Grant To Research Coastal Resiliency In Chesapeake Bay
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Maryland Sens. Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen announced award money will help researchers study the Chesapeake Bay.
Scientists will use $250,000 to learn about the benefits of marshes and reducing the effects of rising sea levels.
The grant comes from a research program with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and will focus on gathering information and solutions to mitigate the risk of flooding.
