Maryland Basketball Coach Mark Turgeon
Maryland Terrapins basketball head coach Mark Turgeon joined Ed & Bob to talk about the Terps chances of making the NCAA tournament.
Bob asked Coach Turgeon about the honoring of Lefty Driesell during last weekends game. Turgeon said it was well deserved and long overdue, and gave Lefty credit for turning the program around and bringing the program back to prominence.
Ed asked Coach Turgeon about Alex Len and his bulking up during the off-season. Coach said Len's game has been helped extremely by his gain of weight and added confidence because of it. And said of rumors of Len leaving early for the NBA that they will cross that bridge when they come to it.
Ed asked Coach about the experts saying the Terps will be on the outside looking in come tournament time. Turgeon said he doesn't care there is a lot of basketball left and he is focused on Georgia Tech and not what the media thinks of his young team.
Coach Turgeon also said he has never had a year like this where he has used so many different starting line-up combinations to try to spark energy and performance from the team.
Coach also said the team is confident and getting better as they head to Georgia Tech, and that they need to show more poise on the road and turn their determination level up.
