Maryland And Hopkins Renew Their Rivalry
Big Ten Network analyst and former Blue Jay Mark Dixon joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn to preview the Maryland Terrapins and Johns Hopkins Blue Jays starting another chapter in their rivalry. Mark broke down the two teams and gave his thoughts on who could have the upper hand on defense. "Stylistically, they match up very well. Maryland has a better defense, with possibly the greatest goaltender in the country in Kyle Burnmore. Hopkins has struggled immensely in goal, and with defense. Offensively, however, Hopkins is more explosive. But Maryland works together as a team to win."
The Terps have a special player in Midfielder Charlie Raffa, Mark believes he could be a game changer if healthy. "One of the best faceoff men in the country is Charlie Raffa and he's missed the last three games with an upper body injury he suffered against Penn State, he's a game time decision. Hopkins has good faceoff men as well, but Maryland has the faceoff advantage."
