Mark Zinno: Predictions For Ravens Preseason Game

Pre-Season Game Predictions with Kris Jones

The Ravens face the Buccaneers on Thursday with a lot of position battles up in the air. Kris Jones of Russell Street Report joined Zinno on "Last Call" to discuss things we expect to see in the first preseason game. The absence of Ed Dickson because of his hamstring injury should give extra reps to the other tight ends in camp like Billy Bajema and Visanthe Shiancoe. It will be interesting to see what they make of the opportunity with Dennis Pitta out for the year, Jones said.

The is a wide receiver spot up for grabs as well. A bunch of young guys will look to get a chance to play with the first team. "Tandon Doss will likely get first crack at it," said Jones. Others in the mix include Deonte Thompson, LaQuan Williams and a host of others. But see their fair share of work with Joe Flacco and the rest of the regular starters.

Finally, the guys talked about middle linebacker. Both Zinno and Jones agree that Darryl Smith, who was signed as a free agent this off-season, will start at one middle linebacker position. Who will get a chance to be the other one? "Albert McClellan is probably the front-runner because he got that start there last year," said Jones. Josh Bynes and some other young players will also get an opportunity to help fill the shoes of the retired Ray Lewis.
