Many Units In Condemned Prince George's Building Now Livable
RIVERDALE, Md. (AP) -- More than half of the units in a condemned Prince George's County apartment complex have been deemed livable again.
County officials say 43 of the 65 units in the Riverdale building are now habitable, and residents can return immediately.
The other 22 are still unsafe, and may require up to three months of renovation.
The building was condemned Wednesday night because of residual problems from the recent storms. Officials started the evacuation process Wednesday night after responding to a 911 call for a water leak.
A temporary shelter has been set up at Bladensburg High School.
