Manslaughter Conviction In Death Of Md. Bar Owner
SNOW HILL, Md. (AP) -- A Maryland judge has convicted a man of involuntary manslaughter in the death of an Eastern Shore bar owner.
The Daily Times of Salisbury reports that a Worcester County judge found Cyle Walker guilty of manslaughter and other charges stemming from an October confrontation outside the 707 Sports Bar & Grille in West Ocean City.
Walker, who was celebrating his birthday, scuffled with bar owner Carey Flynn after Flynn, 63, confronted him for urinating outside the building.
Trial testimony showed that Walker took a swing at Flynn, and that the men fell to the pavement after
grabbing onto each other. Flynn, who weighed 356 pounds, struggled to rise and catch his breath. An autopsy showed that the scuffle somehow caused a tearing of scar tissue and internal bleeding.
