Police Investigating Double Homicide In Anne Arundel County
BALTIMORE (WJZ) - Police are investigating after two bodies were found on the side of a road in Anne Arundel County.
Homicide detectives swarm the secluded area in Shady Side just before 1 a.m. on Thursday, where they found two dead bodies near Scott Town Road and Nick Road.
Two adults, a man and a woman who were both shot and killed.
Police identified the couple as Leslie Smith, 48, and Linda McKenzie, 44, who were in a relationship and lived together in a house boat in the Rock Hold Creek area.
"We're looking for any evidence that we can find at the scene, witnesses who may have heard something last night," said Marc Limansky, spokesperson for the Anne Arundel County Police Department.
Police said neighbors reported hearing gunshots shortly before the bodies were found lying on the side of the road.
It's still not clear how the victims got to the location they were found or who pulled the trigger.
"It's unreal. I've never. It's crazy the way these killings are happening all the time. It just makes no sense," said Debbie Callis who lives in Anne Arundel County.
A vehicle was also found at the crime scene and was towed by police. It's not clear who it belongs to.
"Very quiet neighborhood. Seems a little unusual for something like this to happen around here," Limansky said.
Police are focusing on finding a motive.
Anyone with information is asked to call Anne Arundel County police.
