Man Who Robbed 7 Banks Sentenced To 18 Years
GREENBELT, Md. (AP) -- A Beltsville man who stole more than $100,000 during seven bank robberies in Montgomery County has been sentenced to more than 18 years in prison.
Samuel Lewis, 44, was also ordered to pay restitution to the banks at sentencing on Tuesday.
According to his plea agreement, between October 2010 and September 2011, Lewis robbed seven banks at gunpoint. He was arrested Sept. 16 in a room he was renting. Authorities seized more than $58,000 stolen in the robberies.
