CENTREVILLE, Md. (AP) -- A man who stole an ambulance from a Delaware hospital and led police on a chase into Maryland that included a stretch going the wrong way on Route 50 has been sentenced to more than two years in the Queen Anne's County Detention Center.
The Star Democrat of Easton, Md. reports Juan Marquis Williams pleaded guilty to the unlawful taking of a motor vehicle and fleeing and eluding police. He acknowledged taking an ambulance from a hospital in Seaford on the morning of Dec. 4, 2012. Williams told troopers he had been a patient at the hospital and needed a ride home, so he took the ambulance.
After serving 26 months, Williams will have to complete three years of supervised probation.
