HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Police in Hagerstown have obtained an arrest warrant charging a local man with first-degree murder in a birthday party shooting.
They identified the suspect Thursday as Marcus Longus, 18. He is charged with first-degree murder and other offenses in the slaying early Sunday of Antonio Joyner, 25, of Walkersville.
City police say Maryland State Police are trying to help them find Longus.
The suspect has a criminal history. He pleaded guilty in May 2011 to hindering a police investigation into the accidental shooting of his 2-year-old brother in September 2010. The child shot himself in the chest with a stolen handgun in the family's apartment. The boy survived the shooting.
