Man Shot By Police May Be Suspect In Mall Killings
FORESTVILLE, Md. (AP) -- A man has been fatally shot in an exchange of gunfire with a Prince George's County police officer, and police are trying to confirm if the man's the suspect from an earlier double shooting.
Cpl. Henry Tippett, a police spokesman, says the man was shot just after 10 a.m. Saturday after he emerged from a Forestville home with two firearms and confronted an officer. Tippett says the man was killed at the scene by the officer, who was also shot and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Tippett says police are trying to confirm the man's identity and determine if he's the suspect in a double-shooting earlier in the morning at the Arundel Mills Mall.
Tippett says Saturday's shooting occurred as Prince George's County police helped Anne Arundel County police investigate the killings.
