Man Severely Beaten In Capitol Hill Neighborhood
WASHINGTON (AP) -- D.C. police say a 29-year-old man was severely beaten in the Capitol Hill neighborhood.
The Washington Post reports the man was found unconscious on the front porch of a house near Eastern Market Saturday morning. Police say he did not live there. The house is across from an area full of boutique shops and eateries that draws large weekend crowds.
Homicide detectives are investigating, which is routine in serious assaults.
Police have reported no homicides this year in the patrol area around Eastern Market, but statistics show a rise in robberies. Armed and unarmed assaults are also up in the area.
