Man Sentenced To 37 Months For $6M Mortgage Fraud
GREENBELT, Md. (AP) -- A Bowie man has been sentenced to 37 months in prison for a mortgage fraud scheme that cost lenders nearly $6 million.
Daniel Ofei, 39, was also ordered to pay restitution at sentencing Tuesday in federal court in Greenbelt.
According to his plea agreement, Ofei, a licensed realtor, conspired with others to use straw buyers in the purchase of dozens of homes using false information.
