Man Sentenced To 10 Years In Md. Bank Robbery
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- A man who prosecutors say wore a wig, eye shadow and lipstick during a bank robbery has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Daquan Barnes, 19, was sentenced last week in Washington County Circuit Court in Hagerstown. He had pleaded guilty to the May 9 bank robbery.
In that crime, police say Barnes entered the M&T Bank in Boonsboro, sat in a chair and told a teller who approached him to put money in a shopping bag he handed to her.
The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown reports that the teller gave him more than $2,000 in cash, and he left. Prosecutors say a customer saw what was going on and followed Barnes until a sheriff's deputy spotted him.
