Norman Albert Jr. said his dad was his hero in life and he hasn't had one normal night of sleep since the brutal murder.

The judge described the murder as "heinous" and "horrific" before she sentenced Parrish to four decades in prison.

"I am glad that the guy got 40 years," Albert Jr. said. "I didn't want it to be any less than that, to be honest with you."

During the sentencing hearing, the judge said this is the most horrific second-degree murder that she had heard during her time on the bench.

Albert Sr. was found beaten to death in his home.

His son spoke during the sentencing hearing and told the judge that he would never get over this.

Albert Jr. said he will never be the same as he was before his dad was murdered, just two doors down from his home.

"I was right there in my house and he was beating my dad to death and I couldn't do nothing," Albert Jr. said. "Nothing to help my dad. Nothing."

Parrish begged for leniency and told the judge that he would never hurt he elderly man and he definitely did not kill him.
