Man Sentenced For Stealing From ATMs
BALTIMORE (AP) -- A man has been sentenced to more than three years in prison for stealing nearly $55,000 by using skimming devices on ATMs in Maryland.
Forty-year-old Bozhidar Lazarov, a Bulgarian national who lives in Chicago, was also ordered to pay restitution at sentencing in federal court in Baltimore on Tuesday. He had pleaded guilty to conspiring to commit bank fraud and aggravated identity theft.
According to his plea, Bozhidar Lazarov, his brother Stoycho Lazarov, and others got debit and credit card numbers by installing skimmers over the slot where customers inserted their cards.
Forty-one-year-old Stoycho Lazarov, a Bulgarian citizen who lives in Millersville, previously pleaded guilty to the same charges.
