Man Rescued From 2-Alarm Fire
CROWNSVILLE, Md. (WJZ) -- Anne Arundel firefighters rescued a man from a two-alarm fire Monday evening.
Fire crews were called to a home in the 1300-block of Generals Highway just before 6:30 p.m. They found heavy fire coming from the rear of the building and called for a second alarm.
They were told that a man might still be in the home. When they entered, they found a 75-year-old man in a basement apartment. He was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center, where he is in critical condition. No one else was home.
The structure had been converted into three apartments. The Red Cross is helping those displaced by the fire.
The cause of the fire was electrical, and there was $75,000 in damage.
