Man Pulls Shotgun On Driver On I-270
ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) --Police say a man pulled a shotgun on another driver after a confrontation on Interstate 270.
The road rage incident prompted Montgomery County police to shut down the highway briefly and confront the gunman with guns drawn.
Cpl. Dan Friz, a police spokesman, says the gunman obeyed all police commands and was taken into custody. The shotgun wasn't loaded, and no one was injured. The gunman is at the county detention center and will face a variety of charges.
Friz says the dispute began shortly before 9:30 Saturday morning on southbound I-270 near the interchange with I-370. He says one driver was going faster than the other and the two began gesturing at each other, and both called police. The armed driver continued southbound and later pulled onto the shoulder.
The other driver also pulled onto the shoulder, and that's when the man pulled the shotgun.
