Man Pleads Guilty To Robbing Md. Bank
BALTIMORE (AP) -- Federal prosecutors say a St. Michaels man has pleaded guilty to armed bank robbery on Tilghman Island.
James Welzenbach, 61, entered the plea Monday. He will be sentenced Dec. 15.
According to his plea, Welzenbach went into the Talbot Bank of Tilghman on March 31 carrying a rifle. He demanded money from a teller and got more than $4,700.
An investigation identified the truck he was driving when Welzenbach left the bank, and he was arrested that evening. The money and gun were found in the dumpster of a restaurant.
